The football club Mockingbird Valley girls under 18 team lost by the FC Milwaukee 3 ... -Louisville Courier-Journal

The football club Mockingbird Valley girls under 18 team FC Milwaukee 3-1 on Wednesday, losing in the final of the US Youth Soccer region II Championships in Appleton, Wis.

It was the first time that a team of Mockingbird Valley had reached a regional final.

Casey Signee Whitfield, a product manual High School, University of Louisville scored Mockingbird Valley of goal. He led all scorers in the 16-team with seven goals in five games.

The Louisville Club was a group of Javanon to girls semifinals. The U14 team Javanon black spells of King Soccer Academy, Ohio 3-1 on Tuesday.

Vollmer, Defender Jamie sophomore was a two-time all-State selection, Indiana at Westfield High School, transferred from Butler University in Indiana University. As a freshman started four games and had two assists for a team of Butler 16-1-3.

Sacred Heart girls coach Rick Heim was named the year of the National Athletic Association coaches High School. According to its website, the NHSACA recognizes coaches not only for a season of coaching, but their achievements and for lifetime.

Sacred Heart were tied for second in last year's class 3-A cross country meet as senior Emma Brink won his fourth straight individual Championship. The ancients also led the Valkyries Championships 3-A Class this month.

The sixth annual Kentucky-Tennessee all-star series is set for today at Volunteer State Community College in Gallatin, Tenn. best series--three will start at 2 p.m. EDT, with games to follow at 4 and 6 (if necessary). Coverage will be available at mtsnonline.com.

Keenan Burton, a former manual and the University of Kentucky player, will host the third annual Reaching for the stars of football and Cheerleading Camp for ages 6-14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the manual. The camp is free and NFL and former United Kingdom and the University of Louisville players in attendance.

Lexington Catholic boys coach Terry justice was named coach of Transylvania young men program. Was the high school State coach of the year in 2004 and ' 05 and led the Knights to runner-up finishes in 2006 and ' 07.

West Valley football teams been third in Alaska State tournament-Fairbanks Daily News-mining

John Wagner/News-slideshow FAIRBANKS mining — both West Valley High School football teams earned no. 3 seed for the Weekend of the ASAA State Championships, scheduled for Thursday through Sunday at Dimond High School in Anchorage and Chugiak high school in Osceola.

Both teams open the tournament on Thursday afternoon in Chugiak.

Boys West Valley receives about Christian grace No.6, the opening round, followed by West Valley girls in South anchorage at 15.00

The tournament is been so four State Conference champions earn 1-4 seeds, based on a formula which takes account of Varsity win record, strength of schedule and the results of the Conference tournament.

Then the Conference champions have been, the other four teams are then placed on the same type.

Each Cook Inlet Conference and the Conference in the Northern lights get three anchoring for the tournament, while the Mid and Southeast Alaska each get a quote.

Loss Thursday, would put the Wolfpack in the consolation bracket at the loser Skagway in the South anchorage at 3 p.m. in Chugiak.

West Valley boys played grace Christian during the regular season.

Other games boys Thursday feature no.1 Dimond against No. 8 service at 5 p.m. at Dimond, no.4 Wasilla taking no. 5 South anchorage at 5 p.m. in Chugiak and no. 2 Skagway-Douglas against No. 7 at 1 pm at colony Dimond.

A victory against Grace Christian enters West Valley in semifinals against the winner of Gustavus/colony at 5 p.m. Friday at Dimond. A loss to the Wolfpack falls to the consolation bracket, where they will face the loser/Gustavus colony at 5 p.m. Friday at Chugiak.

Two tournaments conclude Saturday at Dimond. The competition Title girls is at 3: 15 p.m. and the championship game boys are at 5: 45 pm
