Florida State is extending the contract of coach Jimbo Fisher through the 2016 season. • Former football FIFA vice President Jack Warner says he has been awarded the World Cup television rights for as little as $ 1 in exchange for help Sepp Blatter in elections for the Presidency of world football's governing body.

Warner said in a statement Thursday that FIFA gave the 1998 World Cup rights in Trinidad & Tobago for $ 1 after helping win Blatter "brutal" campaign to become FIFA President.

Warner says he sold the rights for the 2002 World Cup and 2006, having helped Blatter to be re-elected in 2002 and also bought the rights to the 2010 and 2014 tournaments.

Warner resigned from FIFA in June to prevent the investigation of his role in arranging the payments for the voters of the Caribbean during the electoral challenge of Mohamed bin Hammam of Blatter.
