Jason Muller scored with 19 seconds remaining in regulation to lift the Hope College men’s soccer team to a 2-1 win over Dominican (Ill.) Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament.
The Flying Dutchmen (17-4-3 overall) advanced to sectional play next weekend at a site to be determined.
It is the furthest Hope has advanced in the NCAA Tournament since 2002 when it lost in the regional finals in a shootout to Wheaton (Ill.).
Muller, a junior, leads Hope in scoring with seven goals and eight assists.
Matthew VanZytveld scored in the first half for Hope. It was his second goal in two days.
Goalie Logan Neil made three saves for Hope.
