Laurel high school football team loses in section III state final-plain dealer



 the football team saw its best season in school history LaurelSchool to come to an end as tough as the Gators lost, 5-2, Cincinnati country day summit III Division State title match Saturday at crew Stadium in Columbus.


The Knights scored with 11: 00 left in the first half, as Emily Wiser scored with an assist from Amauria Campbell.


Less than 5 minutes later, Meredith Schertzinger bent a Corner directly to the target for the two-goal advantage at halftime.


The Knights Put the game away early in the second half with two quick goals. Firstly, Schertzinger scored on a header off a corner kick from Englehart Izzie were just 2: 41 into the second half.


Then, about 3 minutes later, Elizabeth Williams scored with an assist by Schertzinger for a lead 4-0.


Laurel got two goals from Sydney after Riddle behind 5-0. The first was with 18: 42 left in the game. Then, it is added to with just 4: 51 left to play, as home a loose ball from a yard.


Addie Englehart ended the scoring for the Knights when they found the back of the net at 01: 45 on a lead 5-0.


The Gators ended the season 15-6-1, while the country day is 19-4-1.
