Girls soccer: kids Comeback Win group 2 for Ramsey-NorthJersey.com

EWING – in what proved to be last Ramseya few moments of the season, I don't think Knief Lexi. Reacted only senior forward.

ARISTIDE ECONOMOPOULOS/THE STAR-EGGRAFeS Ramsey of Lexi Knief celebrates award-winning goal in overtime of game group 2 final on Saturday.

Knief managed to koykoylwsei with the aim of the award-winning game in the fourth minute of overtime Ramsey to give a 2-1 victory at Topton to the Group 2 State Girls Basketball final on Saturday at The College of New Jersey.

Then, it sprinted 40 yards to midfield to jump to the celebrating teammates.

Knief in the right place was the right time Ramsey give (21-1-2) by a third State title and first since 2001.

Freshman Midfielder delivered a Gabrielle Martone cross from the right side that was misplayed into the crease by a Topton defender. The ball caromed to Knief in front of the goal. Had to reach, just a little behind, but managed to send it into the net.

The aim was by far the most important of the 43 has scored this season.

"It was just a reaction. I thought that the goalie will bring, but it slipped right through, "said Knief. "I thought I would miss it.

"I do not believe this will go to overtime, but overtime makes it even better," said Knief. "Is the greatest feeling."

Little did we know that the Ravens were Ramsey right where they wanted after scoring the first goal. The RAM is familiar with the interruption of the first goals a game, but always managed to rally for the victory.

Topton scored in the fourth minute. A defensive miscue allowed Nickels Kari to the finish line on the right side. The cross went forward Christine Levering John Ramsey and goalkeeper Nicole Cirilli had no chance to save the Snapshot slide.

"Always keep coming back," said senior forward Addie Jensen. "This is our motto."

It proved to be true again. Senior midfielder Morgan Coonrad evened the score 1 when it is found in air 31-yard United over Topton starting goalkeeper Hannah Binder in 25th minute.

Coonrad saw that the Cowboys did not put a defensive wall in front of it for kick and sent a drive that sailed over the outstretched arms and Binder dipped under the crossbar.

"When I saw that they were not a wall, I knew I had to go for goal []," said Coonrad. "It is unimaginable … joy, relief, ecstasy, the euphoria. "

Topton, which won Group 1 titles for 2008 and 2009, had the better of play in the first half. The Ravens took advantage of slow start John Ramsey's and pressed. Cirilli (four stores) that stores, and when we had to do was advocates from trouble.
