VANCOUVER-personal achievements, Tualatin processor senior Anna-Marie Popma was a much larger goal in mind Saturday night. The fact that the 100th career goal delivered a State Championship was what mattered most.

Converted a penalty kick in Popma 52nd minute, and the Timberwolves (19-0) completed a perfect season with a 1-0 victory over the West (14-3-2) in the OSAA class 6A final Girls Soccer at Vancouver.

"I was certainly not the 100th goal when this happened," said Popma. "I won this game and do what it took. The aim was, obviously, so I did what I had. "

Tualatin processor, which won its first title since going back-to-back in 2005 and 2006, outscored opponents 90-2 for the period. The Timberwolves controlled for most of the night play against sunset, holds a 3-15 advantage in shots, but struggled to find the target.

Won the change needed when senior forward Cassie Baldwin promoted the ball to a streaking Popma, whose shot was stopped by sunset in sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Luty. On the rebound, the ball hit Sunset junior Ashley Rogers by hand, on the recommendation of the penalty kick that Popma calmly converted.

Baldwin said that acting on tips from the coach Rossano Rocha.

"He called me in a little earlier and told me to look for (Popma) If you many pressures," Baldwin said. "I had three people who come to me, and there was a second when I thought I could play it forward. What happened to get. "

Popma credited Baldwin, who finished with a team-high 26 goals and picked up the slack for Tualatin processor when Popma lost a month of the season with a broken collarbone. Popma, Baldwin teamed up Saturday without sophomore Jill Farley, an all-Pacific Conference forward attending a Club Soccer camp in Florida.

"Cassie worked the Butt tonight, and I would like to thank," said Popma. No "I've done nothing tonight if it wasn't for her."

23 goals this season pushed Popma past Courtney Verloo (97 goals) for the registration of the school. With the title of the State in the bag, this is reflected in reaching the mark in the 100-goal.

"This means so much to me," said Popma, who has been guilty of Boise State. "I got the record of the school, but rendering into three digits is incredible."

Rocha said the "most Popma: children of time have a rhythm of work or lots of talent. Has she got everything. Boise State is a very lucky. "

Sunset, playing for the title of the first State since 1990, had two good chances to score.

Late in the first half, junior Mary Grace Russell was shot from close range, but was interrupted by a persistent defender near the goal line in Tualatin processor. The 66o minute, senior Alicia Alarcon had a clear shot from about 15 yards but missed wide left.

"Certainly we had opportunities," sunset coach Ben Durano said. "It is regrettable, but we will be back next year. The team is young. We can certainly build it. "
