Big Rapids soccer | Reds rout Winnemucca slowly advance to a state championship-Sierra Sun

This was a close game, which will be turned into a rout in a matter of minutes as Wolf boys football team, which knocked away Winnemucca 4-0 Friday in the 3A state semifinals Fernley.

The Reds, who scored three goals in the final 12 minutes to blow open a contest 1-0.


"We had chances right off the bat," breed of coach Randy Shelley said. "We should have stopped the trigger sometimes."

"We can't hang our heads," coach Shelley said. "My aim was to report this year. Took us to the State and played a great game. "


The Indians ended season with a record of 17-10-2 and will need to load the next year.


Besides the Streif, the most goal scorer in the history of Rosemount Boys High football, the tribe loses Romero, Brian Villegas, Sam Ankomah, Bernard Manuel, Damon Rasch, Erick Ayala, Christian Rodriguez, Marco Rodriguez, Pablo Cortez and Arnulso Cortez.


The Reds advance in the game Title State Saturday at 2 p.m. against Sparks, which beat Virgin Valley in the other semifinal game.
